Rangunia BNP After Humman Quader Chowdhury’s Nomination

Following the announcement of Humman Quader Chowdhury, a member of the party’s Central Executive Committee, as the potential BNP candidate for the Chattogram-7 (Rangunia) constituency, a new wave of excitement and unity has swept through the local political arena.

Much of the internal competition and differences that existed among the party’s nomination aspirants have subsided since Humman’s name was announced. Many senior party leaders have posted various comments on Facebook, which local activists believe signal a new message of unity in Rangunia BNP.

Local Response and Renewed Hope

Upon the news of the nomination, BNP, Juba Dal (Youth Wing), Swechchasebak Dal (Volunteer Wing), and Chhatra Dal (Student Wing) activists took out joyous processions in various unions of the upazila. In these processions, they chanted slogans in favor of the ‘Sheaf of Rice’ (Dhaner Shish) symbol and pledged to work together in the upcoming election.

VP Ansur Uddin stated: “After a long time, Rangunia BNP will stand on one platform. This is the biggest achievement.”

Many are viewing this rare atmosphere of political unity as a potential sign of the party’s revitalization in the area. Their expectation is that if this unity is maintained, the ‘Sheaf of Rice’ symbol will once again become a significant contender in Rangunia in the upcoming election.
